The faces of Occupy Saint John: Mike Brideau

Mike Brideau is a 20-year-old taking part in an Occupy Saint John protest in King’s Square, where he and several others have been camped out for two weeks. Mike has had a difficult upbringing, he says, and was the victim of abuse at various points in his life. He grew up in foster care and was homeless for a time when that didn’t work out. This difficult past now motivates him to want to help others, to alleviate suffering and address injustice in society in general. In this interview with Mark Leger and Colin McDonald of the Human Development Council, Mike talks about how Occupy Saint John is helping work toward his goals.
